Viacom Sold Harmonix For $50

Viacom succeeded in selling off Harmonix, the company responsible for Rock Band, to a firm called Columbus Nova over the holidays, for a surprisingly low price: $50. Seriously, the alleged list price for the company was $50. But that doesn’t technically take into account all the other stuff that goes into buying Harmonix–the music licensing fees, the unsold games, and all the game company’s liabilities. But still; it’s hard out there for music videogame companies. [Billboard]
