    Here’s a little piece of music memorabilia to brighten your Friday: It’s a July 1976 article excerpted from Melody Maker magazine. With a title declaring the Ramones to be ‘rubbish,’ the piece predictably runs down the author’s reasons why the New York punks are basically worthless.

    Oh yeah, did we mention the author is Steve Morrissey, aka Morrissey–the man who would later go on to front the Smiths? Yeah. Morrissey apparently dug other NYC acts like Patti Smith and the New York Dolls, but had nothing positive to say about the Ramones. You can read his review below. [BF]
