Australian/Californian Betty Who has been tearing up the pop scene with her brand new single “Somebody Loves You.” With the help with producer Peter Thomas (Selena Gomez), her song and lyrics blast away with the frilliest of sugary synths and hooks that stick you into a time machine, throw you into the eighties and wish you were dancing along as if you were in a Madonna video.
But now, another young talent has taken a stab at the pop single and pushed it into the future. British DJ/producer Starsmith who has worked with a slew of today’s pop stars such as Ellie Goulding, remixed the likes of Katy Perry, Robyn, and Lady Gaga drops a hard beat into the pop song. What was once a light-hearted pop tune has turned into an ultimate late night club anthem. Starmith’s beats injects some disco beats underneath his waves of electrifying production.
Betty Who states that the “The Starsmith remix literally embodies the intensity and emotion of the original song, and also translates it into the perfect track your your next workout playlist.”
The original comes off the 21-year-old’s debut The Movement EP via RCA Records. You can now get it via iTunes here.
