The reunion bandwagon lumbers on, with the Libertines among the latest bands to hop on board, despite the fact that Carl Barât and Pete Doherty have played together countless times since the official “split” in 2004. The boys are at least picking up some hefty paychecks for their efforts this time around, as the upcoming twin Reading/Leeds festival headline spots in England are allegedly bringing in six-figure sums.
Doherty has been keeping fans posted on the love-in between the newly reunited band members by posting this footage (above) on YouTube. “Alright, it’s recording so let’s go straight into one,” says the singer, before a confusing mess of footage from a rehearsal of “Horrorshow” last Monday (Aug. 9) is interspersed with riotous clips from a show at the Rhythm Factory in London from 2002. Confused? You will be, although anyone with a cursory knowledge of Doherty’s past antics won’t be entirely surprised.
