In an interview on BBC Radio 1–coincidentally, on the same radio show that announced the return of Bloc Party– Killers frontman Brandon Flowers promised that the band will be putting out their fourth album this year. Apparently, it’s so ironclad, that Flowers says it’s down to picking release dates:
“It’s just whether it’s the summertime or the wintertime,” Flowers said of the release date for the Las Vegas band’s yet-to-be-titled fourth album.
The Killers haven’t issued an album since 2008’s Day & Age, and they haven’t spent much time together since–they’ve been on hiatus more or less since early 2010. But they reconvened recently to record a new album, and are now saying things like this:
“I think the consensus within the band is to take those things that we’ve done well and really hone in on that,” Flowers said. “We don’t want to make Hot Fuss 2 or Sam’s Town 2, or Day & Age 2. We’ll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do.”
