Folkster King Daniel Tributes “There’s Only One!” To MMA Star Conor McGregor

If you’re unware there’s a combat sport out there called MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). It’s become quite popular the last decade or so and has not only inspired martial artists around the globe but musicians as well.

Los Angeles-based folk singer King Daniel has a sound that could be heard as a mash up between the likes Damien Rice or I dare say Jeff Buckley. He seems to be quite passionate about the sport in addition to the combat art of Brazilian Jjiu Jitsu and is a fan of one of the biggest stars the sport of MMA has to offer now, Conor McGregor. The Irish fighter will be fighting UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo for the belt at UFC 189 in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 11, 2015.

King Daniel explained the inspiration for the song:

Mcgregor puts the art back in martial arts.  He’s an inspiration to any up and coming musician/sculptor/jiujitsu player to fight the good fight and follow their dreams with the ferocity they deserve.  There’s songs for all the great battles in history, and I wanted to bring that into the modern era with this song and support Mcgregor’s bid for the title.

There’s Only One Lyrics

I saw a fight in a dream the other day

I saw a man who never lost get blown away

With a left straight down the pipe

I saw who won the fight…

Mcgregor proved his might there’s only one

There’s only one!

There’s only one!

And I heard them doubt

I heard them say

I heard them shout

He’d never beat Jose

But if you crawl, your entire life..

You’ll never walk, you’ll never run, you’ll never fight

There’s only one!

There’s only one!
