Remember when Wyclef Jean tried to run for president of Haiti? Yeaaaaaaaah--when that didn't pan out because of numerous reasons, Jean decided the best way to live the dream would be to write an album about being president. Next best thing, right? If I Were President: The Haitian Experience. With song titles like "Political Incorrectness" and "Election Time" and lyrics like "Racism, health care, welfare / Seems that nobody cares" it's not hard to tell where this is coming from. While Jean's intentions are presumably on the level, he also got a nice bit of promotion from his ridiculous attempt to run the country, but hey, he can still make a laid-back reggae-tinged pop song when he puts his heart to it.
