Wu-Tang Clan has returned for its sixth album, Pollen: The Swarm Part Three (no parts one or two; the name is most likely a spoof of B-movies' tendencies to repeat themselves). Pollen is the band's first new album proper since 2007's 8 Diagrams, though the legendary hip-hop act released the compilation Chamber Music in 2009, an album that featured several members of the Wu-Tang Clan, (which used the band's name despite not being considered an official Wu-Tang release). Several of the members of the Clan, including Raekwon, RZA, and Method Man, have recently been praised for their efforts outside the group.

8 Diagrams was the first Wu-Tang album to go anything less than gold despite generally favorable reviews. Since that album's release, the Wu-Tang clan signed to the Orchard to handle their digital releases. With their Sony contract expired, Pollen will be released on the mysterious Wu Music Group label.
