Weezer's eighth album comes with a new (as yet unnamed) independent label, but little else appears different. The album's put-on of a title, as well as Rivers Cuomo's description of the album as having "more raw, rock energy" all suggest the basic staples of a Weezer album are in place: hooks; cute, ironic, outsiderisms; and more hooks. Cuomo has also suggested more collaborations in the spirit of 2009's Raditude will appear on this record, such as with Ryan Adams ("It's a very stirring and emotional and powerful Weezer song... He plays lead guitar on it, but it will be on the Weezer record, for sure"). Surprisingly the album is not self-titled, as almost every other album has been named such. Still plenty of colors in the rainbow to choose from.
