Following the disbanding of synth-pop act Lansing-Dreiden, some of its members weren't ready to call it quits. As such, they went on to form Violens, a New York City-based trio that creates music heavily steeped in new-wave. Armed with synthesizers and ghastly vocals, the band released somewhat-angsty lead single “Acid Reign” in the summer of 2010. Beyond building blog hype, the track provided insight into the trio's full-length debut, Amoral, a record filled with reverb-filled vocals, '80s drum machines, jolting synths, and scraggly guitars.
