Indie-folk mainstay Vetiver takes a swing at covering a bunch of oldies but goodies on the appropriately titled Thing of the Past. Andy Cabic and company run through tunes by Townes van Zandt, Loudon Wainwright III, and Norman Greenbaum (no, not "Spirit in the Sky"--dude did have other songs). Michael Hurley sings on Vetiver's version of his "Blue Driver," and certain Chapin Sisters as well as the legendaryVashti Bunyan guest on the album too.
