Take Action Vol. 3 is two-discs worth of what could be the worst trend in music today: emo, screamo, bad metal and bad pop punk are all you'll find. The compilation was assembled by Sub City Records to benefit the National Hopeline Network. The goal -- a worthy cause -- is suicide prevention. So it's too bad the compilation doesn't offer much appeal. The record consists of some of the most unoriginal, uninspiring bands of today, whose music is completely devoid of any real emotion or creativity. What's worse is that every song has been previously released, so if you're actually into any of these bands, chances are you already have the song they donated to the comp. Make a donation to the National Hopeline Network instead and leave this record on the shelf.
