Review

Did you know that Barsuk Records put out records for more bands than just Death Cab For Cutie? Neither did I. Turns out they've got a bunch -- and some are damn good. From the perfectly crafted melodies of the Long Winters to the heart-wrenching alt-country of Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter to Rilo Kiley's sub aqueous pop that lies somewhere in between, Barsuk has much more talent on its hands than I ever realized. And Barsuk even makes it easy for you: Treats sells for only $5 in their Web store. Unless you already own most of Barsuk's catalog, it's more than worth it.
