Bob Blank, a seminal record producer of New York's late 70s underground (which included punk, disco, no wave, and new wave), seemingly missed out on all the renewed attention American post-punks received in the wake of Interpol and the Liars. With ties to everyone from Lydia Lunch to Arthur Russell top Gladys Knight, Blank's canon was long overdue for revisiting. Blank Generation features several Blank-produced tracks, including landmark tracks of disco ("To Be With You"), no wave ("A Cruise To The Moon"), and all the other misfit movements brewing in downtown Manhattan in the late 70s.
