Twista The Perfect Storm

For many hip-hop heads getting their feet wet in the 2000s, Twista's name is most likely attached to his appearance on Kanye West's “Slow Jamz.” Sure, the track didn't get quite as huge as “Jesus Walks” or subsequent singles, but Twista's quick-tongued delivery made sure his performance was not just another guest spot but a defining moment. Fans of his verse learned that the Chicago MC had a rather deep discography, which extends here with his eighth album, The Perfect Storm. It's his latest since 2009's modestly received Category F5, which boasted minor hit “Wetter.” And here, Twista is looking to show signs of maturity and growth. Helping him do that are notable guests such as Raekwon and Chris Brown, among others, and fellow Chicagoans and previous collaborators the Legendary Traxstar and No I.D.
