Although he’d been around for more than a decade at the time, Twista’s rapidfire delivery didn’t become wholly ubiquitous until the release of his fourth album, Kamikaze, in 2004; for a while there, the single "Slow Jamz" seemed like it was on an endless loop on MTV and radio stations across the country. The fast talking rapper has been less visible in the years since, and his three follow-up releases – The Day After, Adrenaline Rush 2007, and Category F5 – haven’t managed to garner the same amount of attention, despite featuring cameos from heavy hitters such as Mariah Carey, T-Pain and Pharrell. That might account for the return-to-basics moniker of the upcoming Suicide 2010, which lifts its name from a song released back when the rapper still went by Tung Twista. Though there isn’t much pre-release hype about what to expect from Twista’s eighth album, there are a few guarantees: lightening fast emceeing, hooks and beats galore, and a little help from his (famous) friends.
