Review

Since entering the music industry in 1996 with the Aquabats, drummer/producer Travis Barker has never really been one to color inside the genre lines, so to speak. It's true that he spent most of his time through 2005 with pop-punkers blink-182, who reunited in 2009. And he did indulge in side projects Boxcar Racer, +44, and the Transplants. But Barker also dabbled in producing albums for artists ranging from Pink to Pharrell while making drumming cameos on tracks by rappers Bun B and Game.

As such, it's no surprise that Barker would enlist such a varied line-up for his solo debut, Give the Drummer Some. The album boasts features from artists across the gamut, though hip-hop clearly has the biggest influence here. He's joined by the four MCs of Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Crooked I, Royce Da 5'9", and Joell Ortiz), Raekwon, Lil Wayne, Game, Kurupt, and several others along with Tom Morello, Chester Bennigton, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, and Slash. Additionally, Barker has shot videos for every track on the record.
