Synthpop/rock trio Trans Am has been delighting fans with its own version of funky, often vocal-less prog rock since the early nineties. Over the course of the past two decades, these Thrill Jockey alums have amassed a strong fan base built not only on the strength of their albums alone, but also their electric live shows. As an in-between album gift to the fans, Trans Am offer What Day Is Tonight? Trans Am Live: 1993 – 2008. Released as both a seventeen track CD + DVD combo as well as a limited edition 1,500 print double vinyl with free MP3 download, What Day Is Tonight? features live material from their latest tour in which they opened for Tool as well as a career-spanning retrospective DVD with footage dating back to 1993. Fun fact for all trivia-holics, Trans Am’s live show was recorded on Tool’s equipment while they were playing with them.
