Review

Power pop might have had its heyday back in the 70's and early 80's, but no one bothered to tell Tinted Windows. The origins of the supergroup were first formed three years ago when Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) paid a visit to Taylor Hanson of Hanson's home in Tulsa, Oklahoma where the pair wrote a few songs. Deciding that they had a group in the making, they recruited James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins and later on Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, to give the band a classic power pop sound. Songs like the lead single "Kind of a Girl" and "Messing With My Head" are a sincere throwback to the days where The Knack, and unsurprisingly Cheap Trick, ruled the airwaves.
