Paper Trails is a big album with serious context, so it deserves this re-release. Atlanta rapper T.I., born Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr., wrote many of the songs while on house arrest for federal weapon charges. Eight of these songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and the album sold 568,000 copies in its first week out. The album features Justin Timberlake, Usher, Kanye West, Rihanna, Ludacris, Lil Wayne and B.o.B. Joining this all-star situation are five new tracks, including “Don’t Forget Me ft. Mary j. Blige” and “Hell of a Life.” There is grit in the champagne; the release of Paper Trail: Case Closed corresponds with T.I.'s 366-day prison sentence for said weapon charges, which according to an interview on "Chelsea Lately," entails the fact that he "illegally possessed machine guns."
