In 2007, the Ponys released their promising and well-received but often overlooked Matador debut, Turn The Lights Out. The alternative press was excited about it, and the band even managed to catch the attention of the mainstream music rags. Basically, the Ponys seemed to be, as they say, on their way. But something just didn't catch on. The band failed to release any new material in the ensuing three years, and they seemed destined to fade into obscurity. Apparently, they aren't ready to do that. With the release of Deathbed +4, the Pony's fourth long-player and second for Matador, we find the band members continuing to rethink what you can do with that pesky "garage rock" label. They are out to do what they do best, making haunting, dirge-like rock music that manages to push the limits of traditional song structure but still sound familiar.
