The best two words to describe the Pipettes' Your Kisses Are Wasted on Me? Short and sweet. The songs are as catchy as they are kitschy, and they never hit the three-minute mark. The EP opens with the title track, which delivers on the band's overall premise: What if Phil Spector had produced Bikini Kill? The two centerpiece tracks, "I Love You" and "Really That Bad," re-enact the style of "Your Kisses Are Wasted on Me" without really elaborating on it. It's closer "Guess Who Ran off With the Milkman?" that's the most accomplished on this set. Previously available as a B-side to a rare seven-inch, it's the only song that allows itself the freedom to explore its own sonic possibilities. Regardless, there are certainly worse ways to spend ten minutes.
