In the years following the debut collaborative release from Zion I and the Grouch, the respective artists stayed pretty busy. Zion I dropped a pair of albums while both members, rapper Zumbi and producer Amp Live, padded their solo resumes. The Grouch was in the same boat as he dropped some solo efforts between teaming up with Eligh and the rest of the Living Legends. But in early 2011, Zion I and the Grouch reconnected to announce the impending release of Heroes In The Healing Of The Nation. Its lyrical content focuses primarily on the issues faced during rough economic times as "people are going through a difficult transition these day," Zumbi said. It also boasts plenty of guests, including Brother Ali, Freeway, Fashawn, and Marty James.
