Why yes, the Dutchess & the Duke is yet another indie-rock guy/girl duo. The band is on a small label that already prominently features one of those (Arthur & Yu), and plays peppy power pop not unlike that of Georgie James or Mates of State. The Dutchess here is Kimberly Morrison, the Duke Jesse Lortz. The two have known each other for a long time and have played together in bands including the Flying Dutchmen and the Sultanas. Hardly Art calls their new partnership "a poetic experiment that blurs the lines between American folk and pop music of yesteryear and today."
