The Duke Spirit held a reputation for making a chic yet scuzzy clatter. Moving into album number three, the UK-based band promised to strip away some of that distorted fuzz. Which was surprising considering the album featured production by Andrew Scheps, who had worked with a number of loud bands like Audioslave and Metallica. Nevertheless, the group had been focused on tinkering with its sound, adding a fifth member and reorganizing its instrument line-up. As if he didn't have enough work, Alan Moulder also dropped by to mix part of the record.
