The Daylight Robbery. That’s a great title, isn’t it? Man, oh, man, that’s good. And good thing, because the music has very little going for it. A hybrid of Meantime-era Helmet and pretty much every emo band you’ve ever heard, Selfmademan can’t seem to pound out one memorable tune on this album. “When Everything’s Dead We Come Alive” has a nice acoustic sound, but that’s probably because it sounds like the ballad on every other modern rock album, strained male vocals and all. On the bright side, it’s not an offensively bad album, but I’d be surprised if I ever listen to it again.
