Ignore the Ignorant is the Cribs' fourth album of post-Strokes New Wave-influenced rock, but their first to features fan and legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr on lead guitar. Obviously, landing Marr as a member is a huge deal for the Cribs, as it may finally allow them to break out from their position firmly in the middle of the Brit-rock morass, since they've been largely undistinguished thus far in their career. As far as Marr's Smiths-work influencing the Cribs, long-time Cribs fans need not worry; first single "Cheat on Me" has Marr adhering to the Cribs' sound rather than making them sound like him. Ignore the Ignorant was produced by Arcade Fire and Nick Cave producer Nick Launay.
