For their third release, the U.K. indie pop duo of instrumentalist Pete Hobbs and lyricist/singer Jof Owen decided to do a stop-gap album of seasonal music. The disc includes eight new originals along with three covers versions. The group, which is influenced by British pop artists of the 1980s like Altered Images, Aztec Camera and Orange Juice, brought a sentimental edge to the proceedings, infusing the songs with melancholy along with the expected holiday cheer. The CD includes their two previously released Christmas songs, “Little Donkey” and “The First Snowflake.”
