For their third full-length, CD, the Los Angeles-based indie synthpop duo are trying something completely different. This time around, Grammy Award-nominated multi-instrumental/producer Greg Kurstin and singer Inara George (the daughter of Little Feat’s Lowell George) have put together a record featuring cover versions of major hits by Hall and Oates, the 1970s and ‘80s Top 40 mainstays. The CD’s title was originally Guiltless Pleasures, Vol. 1:A Tribute to Daryl Hall and John Oates, but was changed at the last minute. The contents still remain the same, however. There will be eight cover renditions of the blue-eyed Philadelphia soul duo’s biggest hits along with one new original tune, “I Heard it on the Radio.” It’s an unexpected follow up to 2009’s Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future.
