The All-American Rejects

When The World Comes Down

Release Date: December 16, 2008
Label: Geffen

Abstract

Following the success of their sophomore effort, Move Along, Oklahoma natives The All-American Rejects have been going to great lengths to build-up hype within their sporadically growing fanbase by hosting internet broadcasts that offered a glimpse into the album-making process. With high-hopes for another hit-laden affair, AAR seem to have crafted a pop album geared specifically towards a substance-deprived ‘I-still-want-my-MTV’ demographic. And if their kick-off single “Gives You Hell” is any indication, the band is straying even further from their Weezer-esque, creatively-inclined beginnings (think the catchy-as-hell “Swing, Swing”) and deeper into Everclear territory, which wouldn’t be so bad if it were still 1998.
