Aksel Schaufler, a.k.a. Superpitcher, made a name for himself with a series of singles in the early '00s. His first full-length, Here Comes Love, was critically acclaimed. He then teamed up with Michael Mayer to form Supermayer, whose ...Save the World was also well-received. Kilimanjaro is his sophomore effort with his solo project. Talking to S/T Magazine about the difference between Kilimanjaro and Here Comes Love, Schaufler stated, "There’s a lot more live instruments…and singing." This new direction has made the Superpitcher project much more inclusive, with Schaufler citing the Field's move from solo project to full band as an inspiration.
