Two facts about Stereolab: (1) The band is on an indefinite hiatus as of April 2009. (2) The band has an album coming out in November 2010. "Who do they think they are?" you wonder. "The Brett Favre of post-rock? Hypocrites!" But don't be quick to call them out, would-be Holden Caulfields. Not Music is culled from abandoned material recorded during the sessions for 2008's Chemical Chords, the band's most recent album. This collection of repurposed tracks is seeing release on CD and double-LP for Drag City and offers one last glimpse into one of the poppier, peppier phases of the band.
