While these two Lawrence, Mass., natives had worked together previously, 1982 represents their first full-out collaborative project. Rapper Termanology regularly appeared on producer/DJ Statik Selektah's albums, such as his third, 2010's 100 Proof: The Hangover. On that record, listeners got a taste of 1982 via track “Eighty-Two,” a track that, along with the album name, celebrates the year both Statik and Term were born. The album finds Term flaunting his braggadocio-heavy bars alongside the likes of Bun B, M.O.P., Inspectah Deck, Saigon and others. And it's all done over some of Statik's biggest production yet as his Golden Age-influenced, loop-based style continues to progress and become fleshed out.
