Snow Patrol

Up to Now

Release Date: November 10, 2009
Label: Fiction/A&M

Abstract

It’s easy to forget that Snow Patrol has been together for more than 15 years. Probably because the band didn’t see much success outside of the U.K. until about 2003 with its Final Straw album and the single “How to Be Dead” (which went down in history as part of the mega-popular, ultra-indie soundtrack to the movie Wicker Park). Then came a European tour with U2, the album Eyes Open, and the band exploded with the worldwide hit, “Chasing Cars.”

A compilation of the past 15 years, Up to Now covers Snow Patrol from the start of its humble pop rock beginnings. The album is a two-disc set and includes popular songs like “Chocolate,” “Chasing Cars,” and “Shut Your Eyes.” But this is no Greatest Hits album, Snow Patrol is clearly looking to expose the world to a mix of its material and include songs from 1998’s debut, Songs for Polar Bears, up through 2008’s A Hundred Million Suns.
