Following their 2009 self-titled full-length album, the MCs of Slaughterhouse – Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9” and Crooked I – took some time to focus on other projects while still touring together. They then announced a year later that a follow-up EP was in the works. Originally rumored to feature old material, members of the group clarified the confusion by stating that it will indeed contain new tracks. It's also meant to stand as a holdover until Slaughterhouse's official sophomore effort.
