A summation, in many ways, of Sightings' decade-plus existence, City of Straw mixes minimalist electronic rhythms, fractured textures, and delicate sonic manipulations with the band's trademark raw, occasionally violent "rock" pummel in a way that presents three musicians at the top of their collective game. Released in the spring of 2010, City of Straw isthe trio's seventh full-length. It was released on Oneida's Brah Records, and features recording and production assistance from Shahin Motia of Ex-Models/Oneida fame.
