The fact that Afro Beat pioneer Fela Kuti would have multiple progeny continuing his legacy today should be no surprise, considering the amount of musical genius coursing through the Ransome-Kuti family tree. So, the question is really where does Seun fit in? The youngest recognized son of Fela, Seun (pronounced "Shehoun") perhaps follows closest in his father's footsteps. He works with Fela's last band Egypt 80, and together they perform spot-on compositions that follow the late activist-singer-songwriter-musician's blueprint. Seun finally reaches the West this summer with this album and a brief tour of the United States.
