With Watkins’ longtime progressive bluegrass trio Nickel Creek looking to be a thing of the past, the fiddler is striking out on her own with this debut solo release. The CD certainly doesn’t lack for star power: Led Zeppelin bassist and former session man John Paul Jones produces, and guest musicians include Gillian Welch, Attractions drummer Pete Thomas, Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench and Watkins’ brother (and former Nickel Creek member) Sean Watkins.
