Hyperactive alt-country maestro Ryan Adams is rumored to have a treasure trove of unreleased material that rivals his healthy catalog of official albums. He has periodically opened the vaults, though, most memorably for 2002's b-side compilation Demolition and this past December's Cardinals assisted III/IV, a double album of material reportedly culled from outtakes left behind during the sessions that birthed 2007's solo effort Easy Tiger. Up next is Black Hole, a solo record that was four years in the making. What's on Black Hole remains to be seen, and with Adams's restless muse taking him from country to hardcore to hip hop to metal and back, anything is possible.
