One of the premier bands of the mid-Aughts O.C./Garden State indie pop boom, Rogue Wave is starting the new decade with their fourth album, Permalight. Permalight is the band's first album since 2007's Asleep at Heavan's Gate and the second on Jack Johnson's Brushfire records after two releases on Sub Pop. It's also the band's first album since the death of former bassist Evan Farrell. Bandleader Zach Rogue has described Permalight as a more "visceral" album than the band's previous efforts, and recorded the album with producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows).
