That whole neo-garage thing was, like, so 2002. Robbers on High Street has closely studied the Hives, the Vines, the Strokes and Co. but has wisely decided to crank up the bass a couple notches. Unfortunately, what's left on Fine Lines is still just six songs of mostly forgettable, repetitive riff rock that might be radio hits or might fizzle out after you hear them on the O.C. "How It Falls Apart" sounds like a bent-out-of-shape Spoon and "Debonair" is the portrait of a band from upstate New York thinking that if they strum hard enough, they just might sound English. Nice try, Robbers, but you're walking a fine line.
