Alternative country troubadour Richard Buckner hasn’t released a record since 2006’s Meadow, but it’s hardly his fault. Blame the headless corpse that turned up in a flaming truck up the road from his upstate NY digs that coerced Buckner halt recording and move or the subsequent death of the tape machine he favored for recording. There’s also the burglary of the apartment Buckner and his girlfriend moved to after the flaming corpse incident that claimed a laptop containing ten songs Buckner had banged out with pedal steel player Buddy Cage and Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley. After the burglary the trio pored over what was left of Buckner's demos, reworking material until they emerged with the nine songs that comprise Our Blood, Buckner’s ninth solo album.
