Religious Knives Smokescreen

Religious Knives' follow-up to 2008's The Door features the duo of Michael Bernstein and Maya Miller again treading into drone territory. Smokescreen also boasts collaborations with bassist Todd Cavallo and drummer Ryan Nadieau, who fleshed out the sound of the record. In particular, their addition to the band helped Bernstein and Miller capture a tribal, rhythm-heavy sound, which stomps amongst the psychedelic, throbbing synths and organs.
