Each project featuring Chris Thomson has been watched with anticipation and high hopes. His two D.C. post-hardcore outfits, Circus Lupus and the Monorchid, broke new ground in the always-thriving District scene. With a recent move to Chicago, Thomson has brought his keen sense to Windy City outfit Red Eyed Legends. Despite the time-zone change, the Legends bristle with an unmistakable D.C. aesthetic on opener "Hamilicus" (indoor version), "Locked In" and "That Other Bastard"; they take a more All Scars route with "Hamilicus" (super indoor version). If I were a second-grade teacher, I'd give Mr. Thomson a check plus plus.
