For some of their fifth full-length release, this Winnipeg punk quartet trekked to Colorado’s punk-friendly Blasting Room studio to record with owner (and punk drummer) Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, the Descendents). The energy is pure punk, but the band isn’t afraid to occasionally get complicated, showing off an interesting progressive rock influence, which mostly comes through in the artful lyrics.
Awesome Awesome rock album. I've always been impressed by Propagandhi's rock out with your cock out brand of music and lyrics... this album is no different. They only get better. Where can they go after a release like this? Canadians hard at work.

Including the audio of the Iraq beheading video on "Human(e) Meat" is too much. The preachy lyrics I can deal with, especially on an album as powerful and melodic as this, but that is too messed up.
Tim
That was certainly not the Iraq beheading video audio. that was made in the studio by them. the song has nothing whatsoever to do with that incident - pay attention.
Anyway good album probably their best musically. 3rd best lyrically. so all in all very good.

Yes, that is 100% not the iraq audio. It is obviously satirical and made up

read the lyrics to the song and you will realize that it is a satire about eating non-vegans, the audio at the beginning created by the band. not a lot of people are educated about this band, but they are quick to speak about them. anyways, supporting caste is probably their best album. the "progressive thrash" flyer has finally been proven true. they really nail it here. the first song is a gutsy choice for an opening track, as most people haven't yet even figured out that propagandhi has a new bassist/singer in todd, some people thinking that chris has changed his voice. even others failed to realize that chris was never replaced by a 'Glen Lambert'.

The screaming is a reference to the beginning of "Purina Hall of Fame" from Today's Empires, which contains audio of a pig being beaten to death. It's a little thing called, "contrast and comparison"
10/10 for the album..
Ben
What do you mean they have a new bassist/singer in Todd ?!
He's been there since before Todays Empires, has he not ?
Stan
On the albums before Todays Empires, John K. Samson (of Weakerthans fame) was bassist.
