On the surface, Atlanta's Pill appears cut from the same cloth as many other "coke" rappers with an intelligent side, but he has a distinct difference. He actually lived it. Unless his biography is full of lies, the young MC spent his teenage years pushing dope to both survive and to pay for his studio time. While he's not just hell-bent on retelling his troubled upbringing, there is plenty of that breed of storytelling in his rhymes. Armed with a strong sense of lyricism, Pill reflects on street-life with a chip on his shoulder. And his full-length debut, The Medicine, represents the culmination of his time in the booth that previously only led to a string of mixtapes.
