It's not for us to say whether the fact that Phil Collins' most recent album, 2002's Testify, was his poorest-performing release to date had anything to do with his subsequent decision to reunite with Genesis for a big-deal tour. Similarly, we can only speculate about whether his first solo album since then is calculatedly courting success by featuring nostalgic '60s R&B covers, or simply giving the 59-year-old singer a chance to re-examine his roots. In either case, if you ever wanted to hear PC belting out tunes by the Temptations, Smokey, et al, your ship has come in.
