The fourth major-label album from Houston hip-hop veteran Paul Wall comes just 13 months after his previous full-length, Fast Life. This time around, Wall is joined in the studio by his Expensive Taste bandmate and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who is responsible for producing around half of the album. Heart Of A Champion finds several Expensive Taste songs seeing the light of the day. The group also includes rapper Skinhead Rob, who is also a member of the Transplants with Barker. First single "I'm On Patron" may be an ode to spirits and the party life, but its slowly loping beat and heavy bass remain characteristic of the Swisha House sound that Wall helped craft and perfect. An impressive list of featured artists on the album includes Raekwon, Houston hip-hop titans Bun B and Slim Thug, and Devin the Dude on the cannibus anthem "Smoke Weed Everyday."
