Bedroom rockers, meet your newest heroes. A duo from Copenhagen geeks out over music, can't even deejay, and yet makes beatastic music that both critically and commercially successful artists from the States only dream of making. The duo's debut, Living With Owusu & Hannibal, is timely: It is thick with the stuttering rhythms, nervous keyboard stabs, and panned and filtered croons that populate today's idea of the future's soul. The single "Delirium" is a kissing cousin of Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and "Lonnie's Secret" replaces Lance Bass with Shuggie Otis before blasting off to the cosmic disco. And, yes, there is a Pet Sounds nod that Steve Spacek wishes he had the jump on. People get ready: This group may be able to break the beat further.
