Owl City's 2009 major label debut, Ocean Eyes, exposed the world to Adam Young and his electropop charms, gaining a handful of comparisons to Postal Service along the way. Young then toured the world and released an album under another name, Sky Sailing, in 2010. Back with the Owl City moniker, Young recorded his second album for Universal, All Things Bright And Beautiful, in his hometown of Owatonna, Minn., and got some mixing help from Jack Joseph Puig, who has also worked with the likes of Green Day, John Mayer and Beck. First single "Peppermint Winter" did not get nearly the attention or airplay that Ocean Eye's chart-topping "Fireflies" delivered, but Young has set out to prove he's neither a one-hit wonder nor a Postal Service clone.
